A thoughtful gift for someone you love

The best gift you can give a loved one brings back your favourite shared memories, and creates new ones as well.

Imagine their joy when they open a unique picture painted especially for them, representing your unique story together so far, and that they can treasure for years to come.

It’s easy to commission an artwork, even if you aren’t sure yet what to have painted. I can help you choose what is right for you.

Here are a few ideas to get started…

“Commissioning a piece of work from Rachel was fantastic.

“I looked through the art on her site and had an idea for a piece to give my wife on her anniversary. Rachel messaged back right away and was able to accommodate a relatively short timeframe. She sent updates throughout the process so I knew what to expect. My wife was thrilled with the painting and it looks stunning in our home. I would definitely recommend getting something from Rachel!”

“I was so thrilled when I received Rachel’s painting.”

“The colours are vibrant and gorgeous and it really captures the spirit of our wedding day! The tiny sparkles throughout the background makes it feel so magical. I can tell so much time, attention and love went into the most beautiful piece of art! I love having a hand crafted painting by Rachel in my home and hope to have some more pieces by her soon!”

How to enquire about a commission

Even if you haven’t got a clear idea yet about what you’d like painted we can start a conversation. I’d like to learn who the commission is for, if there is an occasion you are celebrating, and what it is about my painting style that resonates with you.

We’ll then discuss the size, orientation of the painting and colour tones, and agree on the subject. Finally, I’ll share what kind of extra touches are available, such as framing or printed copies.

What to expect

  • If you’d like a painting based on something real, then I’ll need access to a high resolution photo as a reference.

  • It’s also helpful for me to know what room you picture the artwork living in. That might influence the size, shape and colour tones we choose.

  • When we have agreed on size and subject, I require 50% deposit before starting.

  • I’ll need at least four weeks to complete a commission, and during busy periods (usually Spring and Summer) it could take longer. However, I will be able to estimate a finish date before I take a deposit.

  • I’ll send the final artwork securely bubble-wrapped and by tracked and signed-for post. I will provide postage costs in my quote to you.

  • Commissions start from £300

“Having always wanted some of Rachel’s work but being too indecisive, I could never decide on which piece I wanted! Luckily the choice was taken away from me when my husband commissioned her to paint an anniversary gift and I am over the moon. Not only is it personal to us as a reminder of our special day, it has been created by someone special to us”

Framing

A box frame adds an extra level of style to the finished painting. Many colours and sizes are available, we can discuss as part of the initial design consultation, or you can decide nearer completion.

Greetings cards

Have your artwork printed onto greetings cards to send to those you love. These are perfect for thank you cards following your wedding, or correspondence with loved ones who live a distance away. I print onto high quality recycled card and there’s a minimum print run of 20 cards.

Biscuits

A surprising, and delicious addition your painting gift. I work with a small-batch baker who creates the most delicious, chunky and gorgeously scented gingerbread with your painting printed in edible ink on top. Big enough to share, small enough be posted through a letterbox.
